Got an idea worth sharing? You have one minute.
TEDxQUT is opening the stage to QUT undergraduate students for a special One-Minute Pitch during our 2027 event.
This is your chance to step onto the TEDxQUT stage and share an idea, perspective, question or insight that you think could make people see the world a little differently.
You'll have just 60 seconds to make your case. No slides. No lengthy preparation. Just you, your idea and one minute to make us think.
Who can apply?
This opportunity is open exclusively to currently enrolled QUT undergraduate students.
You don't need to have any previous public speaking or TEDx experience. We're looking for ideas that are interesting, thought-provoking, unexpected, or inspiring.
What could you pitch?
Your idea could be about almost anything. It might be:
- an idea you've been thinking about for years
- something you've learned through your studies or experiences
- a perspective you think others haven't considered
- a problem you think deserves more attention
- a surprising insight, observation or question
- an idea for how we could do something differently
It doesn't need to be a fully formed TEDx talk. We're interested in the spark of an idea, and we'll help you develop it!
The challenge
If selected, you'll have 60 seconds on the TEDxQUT stage to deliver your pitch to a live audience.
Your pitch should:
- present a clear idea or perspective
- give the audience a reason to care
- be your own original idea or perspective
- fit within the one-minute time limit
- be suitable for a public TEDxQUT audience
Finalists will have access to three TEDx speaker coaching workshops to help refine and prepare their pitches, and will receive two tickets to TEDxQUT 2027.
During the event, the TEDxQUT audience will vote for their favourite pitch.
The pitch with the most audience votes wins.
